Get on it fellas. Now is the time to make a trade with Jay!! On the to trade issue: I don't remember any discussion restricting '12 picks. I have to be honest, I see no problem in it whatsoever. So long as we have a nice little spreadsheet posted on the forum then any concerns about potential confusion would be dealt with. The solution is simple in my mind: We make a 2012 spreadsheet and we let the trade go through in its original, unspoiled state of purcopulous perfection. G

The point is what you've just stated: that we hadn't discussed opening up 2012 picks. For every other set of draft picks we've opened up we have discussed it as a group. If a majority of fellow agree to open up 2012 picks then we can do it, but again, I just think it will be too confusing. Especially since draft picks are sometimes traded back and forth and mistakes are made. It could present a real challenge on tracking draft picks back through several potential trades during a three year period. I will post a poll on this forum and we can vote on it as a group.

And I'm not sure why this has to be a sticking point for this trade either. Sheesh. Brandon, give Greg either your 2nd round or your 4th round pick from 2011. Problem solved. Or maybe your first round pick from Jan 2010.

Some background experience where picks are concerned. In my other forever pool, some guys trade them away all the time. One guy hasn't drafted in 15 years. About three guys in a 12 team league, really have no picks for the next four years. That's right. Four years. This pool is VERY stable. There has not been an ownership change in close to 10 years. Thus, these patterns are not problematic. One of the problems that will occur at some point in time, is that an owner, without draft picks, will leave. We have that potential right now. At that time, I suspect the league will need to add picks to compensate the new owner. I don't really see that as a big problem. So, what am I saying. Yeah, I think two years is a good plan for the overall health of the league. SCOOP

Wow, that was really bad on my part. Sorry about that guys. I was in a real bad shape yesterday but I was still trying to do stuff. I even tried typing up a paper that is due on Tuesday. It didn't go very well. I'm a lot better today, I just keep having the cold sweats. I went to a local clinic last night; apparently I had a reaction with the meds that made me nauseous and dizzy. I'll re-iterate what my feelings are: we should leave 2012 out of it until next season. I'm up for opening up unlimited; unrestricted trading barriers once we get a few seasons together under our belts. We still don't know if anyone will flake out next offseason and we don't want to have trouble replacing a team that has no more draft picks

Hey Jay, Glad you are feeling better my friend. I think you had a few of us a little worried This group is about as solid as they come in fantasy hockey, but I do agree that opening up everything could pose problems for that reason and other reasons. My biggest concern is actually keeping track of everything. Adding another entire season worth of draft picks will create extra confusion trying to trace back trades. Cheers, Matt

since we have now cleared up the 2012 picks and pending trade period, should we clear up a couple other things. im worried about putting conditions on trades and/or side bets. i have been involved in both i think, but should we lay some guidelines down for future transactions?
