If you use mozilla firefox there is an add-on you can use to save videos from anywhere on the web right onto your computer. I have this is my other computer that is awaiting repairs once I have the extra cash. You could always use that.

I'll see if I can find other ways of extracting youtube vids to use in non-internet areas.
