Just so everybody is clear about this poll: a vote for "Yes" would allow GMs to select prospect-eligible players during the Free Agent Bidding during the winter months.

When we say prospect elgible, the prospect would have had to play at least 1 season in the league? or half if it's a goalie.
Which is what we did this past year right? So yes would mean no change?

Just getting my fantasy groove back slowly fellas. As far as I know, prospect eligible means simply that a player has been signed by an NHL team.
Skaters are no longer considered prospects after 82 games played in the NHL and goales 41.
Seem correct?

Prospect-eligible players are players who have been drafted by an NHL team and who have played 82 games or less. For goalies the magic number is 41 games.
Last year prospect-eligible players were not allowed to be picked during the Free Agent auction bidding. A vote "Yes" whould mean that propect-eligible players can be selected during Free Agent auction bidding.
Scoop wrote a good post last year explaining why it would be best to steer clear of bidding for prospects during the auction, and I seem to recall agreeing with his synopsis (though I can't remember every gosh-darn point).
In any case, that is the bottom line. Voting "No' means there wouldn't be a change from last year.

Hi guys.
We are still one vote short on this Poll. I am not sure who has not cast his vote but I would like to get it in there. I had a GM contact me yesterday about Poll results and what we do when the result is a tie. I know for vetos we have always required 6 votes to overturn a trade, but I am not sure that is sensible for a Poll. His suggestion was that should a Poll be tied, then it should be followed by a more in depth discussion and then ultimately a final Poll.
For what it is worth, I voted YES on this Poll. If we draft prospects in the September draft and prospects in the January draft, I don't see the logic in not allowing them to be drafted during the FAAB process. It only complicates matters. It only requires constant monitoring to make sure that the players chosen are not prospect eligible. Last season we had three separate bloopers where GMs took prospect eligible players. Messy. Messy. Messy.
Let's get that last vote in there and should it be a YES, let's open up the discussion again and hammer it out until a majority exists one way or the other.

PS Who has voted? Greg (yes)

I voted No, to leave things just like last year but If we did have a tie. I have no problem changing my vote to a yes. I would be fine either way.

Gimme a YES Jarrett! Simplify my life so that I don't have to check each and every week if someone has accidentally picked up a prospect in the FAAB!

Well, good evening folks. It seems as though all GMs have had their say and it is such that we are currently locked at 5-5.
Having made my case earlier in the week for why I voted YES in the poll, young Jarrett kindly offered to switch his NO to a YES which would have the effect of tilting the POLL in favour of the YES's by a 6-4 margin.
I would, however, be happy to open discussions should someone like to make further comments.

I'd prefer NO, but it's not a huge deal. For simplicity's sake, I'm happy to go with YES.

It is my friend.
If memory serves, however, we won't begin the FAAB until after our mid season draft. Sigh.
