Why isn't it a tie Between Ray and Gord? We have a category for Ties in the standings??

I couldn't understand it either, but looked in ESPN under LEAGUE, then Settings and saw the tiebreaker for matches was Goals.

Pretty sure it has been this way a few years...

It happened a few years back with Chris and Greg I believe. Same scenario

You're being "way" too kind Matt. Invincible? Hardly, lol, although I like it the thought.

I must admit I have gotten a good number of bounces go my way this season, but that's the way it is in fantasy sports.  I may not have the most explosive team, but my 'steadicity' keeps me in in the hunt most of the time.  I remember my first year when I finished in 9th place, I had quite a few bounces go the other way.  And then the following season I won it all.  So it's a good bit of luck also.

So, I just keep on chugging along....once the lineup is in, it's out of my hands.

Sorry for being late on this topic. I really wasn't paying attention to the week to tell you the truth. Busy doing major house renos and being down by a boatload after the first few days I figured I was toast. Much to my surprise I saw that it was a tie. I figured that there would be a 1 in the tie column for both Ray and I and was confused as to why this was not the case. I actually checked the Manifesto which clearly states something different then what ESPN does.

Before I continue I hope this does not come across as a sore loser. Well I am a loser as I lost, congrats to Ray, and I am sore but for other reasons other then this. Lifting 826 concrete blocks out of my basement in the past week being the main one. Only 239 more to go!!!!!

Anyway I will say that I am somewhat frustrated as we have a set of rules that are either not current or not followed. I understand that this situation happened in the past and a win was awarded in the same manner. I wonder why the Manifesto was not followed that time or changed to reflect what was agreed upon.

Really all I am saying is a clear set of rules that are followed would be nice.

Now I know that I will receive some flack for expressing my thoughts on this, Mr Chapler, and asked if I have taken my crusty medication this morning. I really am not bitter.

Each week of competition refers to games played from Monday to Sunday, and managers must make roster changes before the first game of the week for the upcoming week’s match-up, which are then locked in for the duration of that week. GMs receive either a win, loss or tie at the end of the week, based on accumulated points in all of the categories combined.

I will gladly help Gord. Can I use a wheelbarrow at least? Or perhaps call upon my twin boys to share in the workload?

As far as the tie goes, in the League Settings there is a setting that matches that are tied, a winner is then determined by 'Goals'. If we change this setting next season to 'NONE", will that affect playoff matches also, or is that a separate matter for ESPN? Because we would need some sort of tiebreaker rule for the playoffs.

I think this section in the manifesto is a throw-back to when we really didn't understand how ESPN scored things like ties. To be honest, I can't remember there ever being another tie, but some seem to remember there was one occasion.

I would vote for Ray having to help Gord haul the remaining 239 blocks into his basement.

The Manifesto is an ever changing, evolving, revolving, and sometimes devolving document. We are, as everyone knows, often discussing, voting and even making adjustments to our set of rules and there are times when those adjustments are not updated in our Manifesto. That is my responsibility and I apologize for that slothfulness.

That is how things improve though. Mistakes are caught and corrections are made.
