Good morning fellers.
It looks as though our previous vote concerning positional issues is essentially closed. Even with a final vote of yes to a one day FAAB bonanza, we would still be locked in at 5-5. No rule change there.
An interesting idea has been raised about bringing the FAAB in for the entire season. We have touched on this in the past and it was not all that popular, however, given our positional issues in ESPN and also the various injuries that can occur in training camp perhaps GMs have warmed to the idea of doing this for an entire season and dumping the January draft.
Time is tight though. Very tight. We need to get this vote completed quickly. If we were to start this season we would need to have this in the books today or tomorrow morning at the latest to give us time to put our bids in for the start of this week.
Happy Voting.

We kinda just voted on this subject last year did we not?
Just my opinion, im fine with another vote if we must but dont think its necessary to continue to vote on subjects we already voted on.

Yup.
At that time though, it was never considered as a solution to potential ESPN related positional woes. To be honest, I have always liked the ideer of having it on for a full season and ridding ourselves of the January draft. One less chart to keep up with for me!

removing the jan draft and allowing FAAB all season long seems like a pretty drastic change to make 2 days before the season.
if i remember correctly i thought we voted on this at the end of last year?

I agree that making a change like this 2 days before the season if not 1 day is a bit much too
Also we just voted on picking guys up off the free agent list and it got rejected, this poll seems very similar again it has to deal with picking up guys before the January draft.
I dont see the issue with keeping January Draft and just having to do a trade to tweak your lineup enough to your liking. Theres 10 solid guys in this league that any of us could PM at any time about trades. I think we all like talking trades.
Next year we draft a bit later and boom everything is solved. We've never had an issue with this stuff before and in my opinion the league has been great.

A quick question to you Greg,
I 've noticed that every year it seems like the schedule is the same.
I've played Ray, Matt, Greg, Chris every year for the last 3 years the first 4 games of the season.
Is there any way of switching that?

Point One: I agree with you fellas. I am not too keen on switching things up so close to the puck dropping. Seems stressful to me. I am, however, keen on the FAAB full year idea. That is why I went for option number 4.
Point Two: Yes, the schedule is exactly the same each and every year it seems. I can edit the week to week schedule, but I don't see a way to shuffle the match ups in one click. If it is something people were keen on, I could invest the time, so just let me know.

I forgot about the draft situations. I think Trying FAAB for one year would be great but maybe not this year. If all those that got picks in the draft agreed then it's fine. But if someone feels they are totally getting ripped off than I would vote to keep it as no change for this year. If those guys are cool with some kind of extra compensation in the form of money than I vote for that option.

So I'll vote 2 or 4 depending on those managers opinion.

I am OK with the extra compensation. No trouble there. For me, it is a time issue though. It all seems quite rushed. I worry that not all GMs would be able to get bids in on time or their rosters set before the puck drops.

I guess we will start a full year of FAAB next year. Nice effort though Gregger!
Yeas, there must be someway to generate a different order for the season schedule. There just has to be a way.

i think we should create a poll with everyones name as an option to see who are the ones always late to the game
most of our polls never get 10 votes

So is it safe to say that we should not be trading January 16 picks just in case we put in FAAB for a season long thing?

We have 5 so far that want to try the FAAB for a year (counting me). So I would say we need one more vote, but it looks that way.

Unless we get 4 more votes in the next few hours I dont see how we can implement it for the start of the season
Also we did just vote on this last year and it got rejected

I agree we can't implement it for this year. Too confusing. But I think for next season it is ok. And after next season we can vote again to get rid of it if no one likes it. We still need one more person to vote to try FAAB next year though. If the other three vote for no change then we can trade jan 2016 picks and scrap the whole idea.

And not to pick a fight Jarrett, but we voted multiple times on many issues. We weren't allowed to Veto then we voted to have Veto, then voted to scrap it. We voted to have a lottery then voted to scrap it. One thing about this pool is we change stuff all the time. And I agree it's crazy, but it's not boring. lol. My opinion is if anyone wants a vote on anything I think they can try, again and again. If 6 people say lets try it then it's a go.
