FAAB Question

What are the rules of the new FAAB? How many FAAB dollars do we receive? I assume we can start spending them after Week One, bidding in a free agent market as we did in previous years?

And we should be allowed to trade those dollars as well. Makes trading more interesting.

I would suggest making the amount not too high because it adds value and importance. We don't want to just be able to add a player every week.

I don't know if I like the idea of trading FA dollars because just like the case with tanking, the possibility is always there. Not that I think anyone would do it of course. Perhaps a deadline to trade those dollars midway through the season would prevent that. Just my opinion

I need time to consider.

Is everyone available? eg. players without NHL experience? Something in the back of my head says without NHL experience, these players can't be picked up.

I believe the rule is if they are not listed in ESPN, we cannot pick them up via Free Agency wire

We have $50 with a minimum bid of $2.

No easy way to trade the money in ESPN as far as I can tell.

I don't know if it's easy to tranfer money, I see in LM tools you can manage the budget but don't know it this goes down as we spend. If it does then it would be easy to add or subtract... maybe something for next season to think about?

And FAAB ends the same week as the trade deadline which we decided was (i think) three weeks before playoff to reduce tanking. My opinion would be that trading money wouldn't be a big deal really because if anyone is on the free agency list at that point I can't imagine he could be very helpful.

I do think trading money next year could be something that would add to trading overall and the excitement. I guarantee someone near the trade deadline will wish we could trade money. Lol. That is even if we like FAAB. I do think we should vote at the end of the year to keep it... or go back to midseason draft depending on how it goes. Also I think we may want to tweak it if we do keep it. We could add drop every week with 50 dollars. Doesn't make it super valuable imo. But maybe we will be competing and money will drop. I've never done it other than this league. Should be fun!

I'm also assuming that players we claim using FAAB will only be processed once per week? Just like last year?
