Why hes not on espn i sont know but alot of other AHL guys are.

Once he is put on the ESPN site you can bid on him again. Just drop that player and use LM tools to give yourself your 2$ back. We made that a condition in FAAB to make it easier and gives our draft only the ability to add prospects that aren't on the site yet.

We had made a rule stating that if the player isn't listed on ESPN's roster of players even though he is drafted or signed to an NHL team, we cannot add him until said player is listed.

I dont really care either way

But in manifesto it states a player can be drafted if hes in the nhl or signed by nhl team.
Then it states FAAB follows same rules as draft.

Waiver pick-ups: We will introduce the ESPN FAAB for the entire season, thereby eliminating our Winter Draft. Each team will be given $50 to be used towards weekly bidding of free agents. Player eligibility is as per our Fall draft. This money does not carry over from one season to the next and may not be involved in trades. Note: there is a $2 minimum bid.


So unless it states otherwise in manifesto i'm not sure what big deal is?

Barbashev is drafted almost made the Blues out of training camp. Hes too old to go back to CHL. Currently is on there AHL roster and could be called up any day.

Not sure why ESPN doesnt have him. I had Shea Theodore whos drafted by Anaheim plays in AHL and hes available

Also i did run this by the commish earlier in the week just to check on it and there was no issues.

It was a question that came up during our discussion on FAAB. Everyone in the discussion agreed only players on ESPN can be bid on. Just wasn't put in the manifesto correctly.

I'm going to go by manifesto. Unless theres a actual real reason that makes sense to not be able to add an AHL player

Barbashev i was gonna use as a prospect anyways. Probably wont see him till next year.

Regardless tho if this is a rule it should be in manifesto. If its not in there i dont see an issue.

We set it up this way so that two people don't bid on the same person, then have to do readjustment to money. If the guy I picked up was just a holding place for the same player who gets him? We made it follow the ESPN FAAB rules because it's all clean. Ultimately we are just saving you 2$. Lol. No one cares. It's just the rules. We talked about this last year when we first started FAAB.

Barbashev SHOULD be on ESPN. So really its an espn issue. I think this is a different situation then most.

Greg can figure this out. I pm early in week to check on what the rules were on this. He mentioned to do what I just did. I then pm him before the 6pm deadline Sunday saying who i was bidding on and how much i would bid just in case anybody else wanted to.
Also went through manifesto and nothing.

Ill leave it at that. Either way no big deal. but moving forward a rule should be in Manifesto to make it official. Having a discussion on it doesnt make it an official league rule in my opinion.

I must formally apologize to Jarrett. I truthfully have no recollection of this discussion and I have mislead him completely. I do my best to update the Manifesto when rules are adjusted but in this case I failed miserably.

Let's stick with our agreement that we made. I will return your money Jarrett. I will update the Manifesto.

On this note, if anyone is feeling frisky, please read the Manifesto through and let me know if anything is not accurate. The more eyes on that the better.

When we first started FAAB Jarrett wasn't in the pool I think. We used to be limited to non prospect eligible players. We went through several debates and polls on what to do. The last poll was making it anyone available on ESPN waiver. Mainly for simplicity sake and to avoid confusion.

Ive been around since FAAB started.

Just to me the rule would pertain to guys in KHL or University players etc. So that noone gets an advantage over a fellow gm

Not guys who are already drafted playing in AHL that for some reason ESPN hasnt added.

I do remember this discussion, but since it wasn't updated in the manifesto and since Greg gave Jarrett the wrong information, I would be fine with making a one-time exception to this rule.

ok, I just noticed we were waiting for Christine and Butch in our voting for ESPN waivers on FAAB way back when we decided this. Thought you took over one of their teams. It would make sense why you didn't know players had to be on ESPN. And I'm cool with a one time exception because of a lack of clarity as well.

Just so i'm clear cause this rule to me is kinda vague. Cant imagine i'm the only one.

I can draft a player not on ESPN lists in September draft
But you cannot pick one up inFAAB

Hopefully other people give their opinion. It is possible that someone was waiting for him to join ESPN. I was not.
