We really need to find a way to spice up that bottom 2 playoff tournament thing.
Having been in it alot i know its painfully boring. Just seeing it day after day for 6 weeks is awful.
I dont have a solution really but even if we tried to set up a loser tourney where u at least play someone different.
Maybe bottom 2 guys play winner moves on in a tournament againt the other losers after round 1 of playoffs. Winner if that loser tourney gets a free 9th rd pick or something?
Anything is better in my opinion. If u finish in bottom 2 ur season is technically done 6 weeks earlier then everyone else.
Something for the offseason to think bout

I can understand the need to spruce things up for the 'losers' so to speak, but we play 21 weeks and someone has to lose.
Now to the other point about playing for something, which I think is a good idea. I know it can be boring to play for nothing and teams don't necessarily make lineup changes in those 'also-ran' match-ups, but we can liven things up a bit regardless of who you are playing week in and week out during the consolation weeks.
My suggestion is that if we decide to switch opponents up during the consolation rounds or not, this method doesn't rely on outcome more than it does accumulation of points. My suggestion is that whoever accumulates the most points during the six weeks of playoffs among the 8 non-winners, the teams playing for the playoff championship are restricted from partaking, receive a 5th or 6th round pick. The pick needs to be somewhat high in order to be incentive for teams to continue to make lineup changes during those 6 weeks.
Some will bring up the concern about injuries. The FAAB is finished for the season by this time and the trading deadline has passed. I would say those are the breaks so to speak. We are all blessed with a deep bench and teams will have to make decisions on whether they want to play for the extra pick and have playoff depth, or play for next year and stock up on prospects. There can be balance of both, but teams will have to make that decision on their own and live with the outcome.

Yeah, I think these are good points. I'm all for using a draft pick (or picks) to incentivize winning in the consolation rounds.

I forgot to add that I did like your response. I just wasn't expecting something so involved. I didn't mean to sound 'insensitive'. I don't want to insinuate that I was offended, it wasn't my intention. From now on I will try not to instigate any involvement in any way. I feel like I am incessantly rambling on.

We always need a bit more Raymond Stock at the Nutbars Forum, if you ask me. But that's just my personal opinion.

I say lets do it!!!! Discuss that is.
I am of the opinion that when you are out of the playoffs you should be all done. No more hockey.
I have no interest the playing in any consolation rounds and hope that we do not assign a reward for losing.
Having said all that whatever
