This is the team name for Joel's Rotisserie league that I drafted last night. It was a little bit crazy keeping up with everything because picks had a limit of 60 seconds and quite often people would only take 3-5 seconds to make their picks. By the middle of the draft I was somewhat lost.
Nevertheless, I think we ended up with a pretty good team. League cats are G, A, Points, PIMs, GWG, +/-, PPP, Wins, Save %.
Twenty teams in total, and we have to play 3 C, 3 LW, 3 RW, 4 D, 1 G.
So as you can see, with only one goalie each and two goalie stats categories they are a bit less important in this league.
This is our team:
C: Kopitar C: O'Sullivan C: Fisher C: Duchene
LW: Kovalchuk LW: Vanek LW: Bertuzzi
RW: Gaborik RW: Pominville RW: Downie
D: Phaneuf D: Gonchar D: Kaberle D: E. Johnson D: J. Johnson
G: Quick G: Smith
What does everyone think?

I think Matt did a great job as well.
A few things are going to be key.
1) How will the team do in +/-? As I looked at last years stats it was looking grim, but I think there are a number of players who could have some pretty decent bouncebacks.
2) How will the Quick/Smith tandem do? I think they should do well, in fact surprisingly so, but time will tell.
3) How will Gaborik's groin hold up? At this point I am wondering if a super hot start might be best in order to trade him away, but I've also never owned Gaborik in any league so maybe he'll finally have the magic needed to go close to a full season.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Joel. When things are flying fast and furious it is damn hard trying to take players who will boost every category. Add to the fact that the "finder" in our draft manager was not bringing up some players when you'd type them in, which meant I thought certain players were already drafted when they actually weren't.
Then there was Kaberle. I was totally unprepared when it was my turn to pick here because Stamkos, Malone and Brown were all taken in the few picks before mine. I was searching frantically for a couple players and it wasn't bringing them up, so I instead ended up taking Kaberle. In hindsight this probably won't be a bad choice though, as Kabs has apparently worked hard at off-season conditioning and will hopefully be a big part of the Leafs renewed defence this season.
Anyway, it was certainly a fun learning experience. I'm glad Joel was so willing to let me take the reigns and run with it.

Yeah, I love our defensemen. If EJ and JJ each have a 30-40 point season, plus decent peripheral stats, I think we'll have the strongest defence in the league. The one thing I'm sort of kicking myself over is passing on Green and picking Phaneuf instead. I just figured the PIMs category and Dion's probable boost in plus-minus this year (under Sutter) meant that he'd be more valuable than 10-15 extra points. We'll see.
As far as GAA, this category was never really in the discussion from what I understand. The league commish dropped shutouts at the last minute.

Oh yeah? What are his stats? I know Jack Johnson has ben tearing it up in pre-season, but I hadn't really noticed Kaberle.
