Hello Kids. I hope that this note finds everyone in good shape. I acquired an autographed Joe Thorton hockey card last year and I have finally decided what to do with it. First, a little history. I love Matt Jackson like a brother with chronic halitosis, but I think everyone is perfectly aware of the fact that he has beat me relentlessly since the birth of our fine league. Our head to head match up is an ugly 8-0 in his favour. The total points I don't dare to count. In the first season I actually made a miracle come from behind win thanks to Bobby Ryan but was informed one week later by ESPN that a recalculation of the totals had Matt winning by 1.2 points. I am not sure if Matt has some connections with ESPN or not, but I can tell you that that reversal stung like an angry Nettle. So, it is with great fanfare and conflagrancy that I announce the following:

My autographed Joe Thorton hockey card will be awarded to the GM who lays the worst beating on The Fitzsy Stars in the upcoming season. I define worst beating as the greatest favourable point differential between said GM and The Fitzsy Stars in a weekly regular season match up. If two GMs happen to tie then the award willl be given to the GM who generated the most points vs The Fitzsy Stars in the given match up. I checked last years stats and the winner would have been the Soo Storm who beat The Fitzsy Stars by roughly 77 points in week 5.

I can only hope that it is Desolation Row who lays the worst beating on Matt next season, but given our history, it does not seem likely. So, I say to all of my fellow GMs, ''Beat Matt Jackson badly and beat him relentlessly''.

I could not help but look back at 2009 and the GM who laid the worst beating on Matt was Joel. The Small Town Dynasty absolutely crushed The Fitzsy Stars be just over 100 points in week 4.

That is the kind of pounding I am looking for next season fellas!

I think if two people tie you should cut the card in half and mail them each a piece

If they tie, the team with the most points generated gets the autographed Joe Thornton card, and the other gets a Scott Thornton card with Greg's signature on it as consolation.

Now, I have thought it over, and I don't think that it is fair that Matt has no crack at the Joe Thorton card so I will make this minor adjustment:

Should Matt go undefeated next season, or lose one or more weekly match ups with a point differential no greater than 35 points, then he will be awarded the autographed card.

There we go. Everyone is happy.

And I will throw in my rookie PJ Stock card....lol. Not really, just kidding.
