I'm also following the Khabibulin trial today as well - has some interesting ramifications for my Oilers!

Looks like Khabby was found guilty. What a nutbar. Or perhaps the Oilers management are the nutbars for signing this guy to a four-year, multi-million-per-year deal.

I probably shouldn't use the term "nutbar" to describe him, lest he want admittance into our fine fantasy hockey league.

I have heard the Oilers may have a chance of getting out of the contract if he is found guilty some sort of a conduct clause? Has anyone heard anything about this?

There is the ability to void his contract should be not be able to play for the team due to being in prison. Whether the Oilers would actually do that or not I have no idea.

Tough decision to make cap room or a proven veteran to help the young guys along.

Assuming there is no chance of NHLPA pushback or management doesn't feel that this will make the team look bad to Free Agents down the road, cutting him loose would be a great thing for the longterm. He never should have been signed for so long as it was.

Being a Flames fan right now i have no room to speak about strange or bad signing's but i always questioned that particular signing for the Oilers.

That was one of the worst signings in the last few years IMO. Letting Roloson go because they felt he wasn't "durable" enough and then signing Khabibulin to a four-year contract. What planet were these guys living on?
Hopefully the current management group in Oil town is able to shake a bad case of Glen Satheritis and get the team back on track. They've got a strong core to work with now.
