draft/league

I have just recently found out that I have a conflict for the draft on Saturday and I am unable to get out of it. I will do my best to see if someone is able to draft for me but it is very unlikely that I will be able to. I am also finding that (with this new job) I am no longer able to dedicate as much time as I have been prior to managing my team (not to mention actively participating with all of you here) and as a result I would be willing to give it up if anyone knows of someone who is looking for a team. I realize it is pretty late to be deciding this, but as I said earlier I will see what I can do in order to participate in the draft on Sat.

Hey Mike, hope everything works out and you can draft saturday, but if you are looking to give up your team i have a really good friend that im in a football and baseball keeper league with that is really interested in this league. he has heard a lot about this league and i have been bragging to him about how active and competitive it is. i actually contacted greg about having him possibly take over keegans team when he decided he could no longer do the league. anyways i just talked to him and he said he is 90% willing to take over and can give me an answer later tonight once he reviews things.

anyways thought i would let you know that if you don't think you have time for the league im pretty sure we have a solid replacement GM lined up for this issue or even in the future.

Well, that is certainly a shame my friend. I am sorry to hear that it may not work out for you to continue on with our league. Ever since you scared the crap out of me the first year I have always felt uneasy about your team.

Whatever the case, the most important thing is that we find the right replacement for you if it indeed comes to that.

Who am I going to agree with if you leave?

Since Greg is MIA in Barcelona I had to make a snap decision on this issue. I think with it being up in the air about Mike participating in the draft and participating much this year, I think it's better to have somebody with us from the start who can draft their own team. For that reason it looks like Brandon's friend will probably be the replacement. Brandon says he is a nutbar of a hockey fan, which means he should be a really good fit here.

I will keep everyone posted as that is 100% confirmed by tomorrow.

yes guys he will make a very good nutbar member. he has been aware of us and this league since the beginning. hes probably tired of hearing about my team and its about time to let him screw up his own up lol i have already told him about matts ridiculous good team and he is still up to the challenge, not sure why. anyways hes a leaf fan but don't hold that against him i will be giving him matts email to have him confirm with him about the league by tomorrow afternoon but i think we are good to go

Leaf fan? We like Leaf fans around here. They're the ones who take guys like Grabovski and Bozak in the first round.

Thankfully Mike was a good manager and has a pretty good team to pass your way. Although you finished ninth last year, you came in second overall the year before and very nearly came in first!

BTW, he lives in Switzerland so it is currently about 8:30 pm over there. If he can't get to it today then we will have to sort this out either tomorrow or after the draft.

The most important thing is that you have access to ESPN to check the scoring format and to see what players are available.

Are we allowed to be making trades while the draft is going on? or before hand? or are all moves put on hold until after the draft?

Wow. You already want to make a trade? You really do have lots in common with Brandon.

Normally trades can happen anytime, but I think in this case we should hold off. Two reasons:

1) When John joined in April we advised that there should be a one-week trade freeze while he became accustomed to the league.

2) The draft is coming up in one hour. Might create a bit of pandemonium.

Is it possible to wait until after the draft?

Too much confusion for a live draft I think.
