Its quiet around these parts

Just came from from a draft at a friend's house. 19 GMs, 12 players per team, stricly one year points only. I finished 2nd last year, only due to injuries. And I lost by 10 points, still gave me a cool 300. This year, I'm pretty confident I can make it to the top if my players click and perform to their expected level. I have the youngest team out of the 19 guys, mostly people going through their second year of hockey. I was selecting 8th overall, so I knew I would get a decent first rounder, but by the time it came back, the pickings were getting slim. I figured its only 60 bucks and I can take some risks for a one year pool.

It's amazing Heatley fell to eighth. He actually did in my one-year friend's league as well. There's only six guys in the league and I picked fifth, so I was able to nab Malkin with the 5th pick and Heatley with the 8th.

You certainly have some sexy young players there. As you say, a lot of them are in year two. You could do well if the dreaded sophomore slump isn't too active this year.

I think Backstrom will have a really strong year. As will Andrei Kostitsyn. I can't see these guys slumping.

I also think Semin is going to have a really strong year. I could see him hitting 80+ points on a high flying caps team. I certainly hope so ... I drafted him in this league.

lol, yeah. Actually when I was drafting I was thinking about this league and trying to avoid contracting what I had wrote to various GMs in PMs and emails, lol!!
