The
YELLOW BOX is an instution in the Arthur sporting community. I am the proud curator of the
YELLOW BOX at this time. It goes back in time, and is entrusted to one member of the community. It is rumoured that the
YELLOW BOX dates all the way back to the original Arthur sports team. The Arthur Arthurs. (no shit that team really existed). Down and through the years the
YELLOW BOX came enduring lacrosse, hockey, softball, football and soccer seasons. Through these many teams and days items got placed in the
YELLOW BOX, special things like helmet parts and most every strange screw you've ever encountered, tape, chalk, 7 whistles, skate stones, screw drivers, saws, leather strips and lacing tools, velcro, sticky tape, goaltender pad parts, punches, skate tighteners, pens, markers, skate laces, mouth guards, wax, game sheets, rosters, pliers, lighters, stop watches, chin straps... I have been able to resolve problems with the
YELLOW BOX , that I had no idea I could resolve. The only thing not in the
YELLOW BOX is a torch. Who would trust leaving the
YELLOW BOX unattended in a room with a bunch of kids?
Infact, after games and practises, the
YELLOW BOX has been left behind, only to be faithfully returned.
I worked for about five years at the Arthur Arena and restocked the
YELLOW BOX to greater levels than ever before. A fellow asked me what the stuff was worth. My best guess is that to buy all the strange stuff collected in the
YELLOW BOX , one would spend $1,000!
Why is it called the
YELLOW BOX ? Because, the guy that donated the box, happened to get a
YELLOW BOX from where ever he swiped it . The
YELLOW BOX is about 4" tall, two feet long and 14 inches wide.
Anyone questioning the Arthur Tigers, can look up the team on Wikipedia! I can change the info on the team any time I like! Yes, the boards really did fall over. I interviewed the Mt. Forest coach 40 years after the game, for a Reunion program. Someday, I'll input the story as it was written for that program! Wikipedia does not mention the
YELLOW BOX .
