If we end in a tie, I would like to suggest a compromise of only being able to bid on players that have played at least 1 NHL game. This would get rid of a lot of the real deep prospects, and also let us bid on some of the prospects. There will be an advantage to those that pay attention to those that get called up to play their first game.... But then those that have the time to find that player that has just played his 83rd game would have a similar advantage.

Fedor Tyutin for Jeff as well must be added. I tried but said his team is full. Think that Tardif is supposed to be dropped (he was the cover for Tarasenko?) but I'm not sure on this.

Looks like only non-farm eligible players are options for bidding, which I think will make things a little clearer going forward. In my mind this auction bidding should be more about making tweaks to helping your team compete this year, rather than getting the jump on prospects for future years. I think if you add prospects it will diminish some of the fun in drafting down the road.

We now have the next couple of months, more or less, to give FAAB a test drive and see what role it might play in the future.
For what it is worth, I voted yes to prospects. Damn you Matt!
My thinking was the following:
When we make it more about tweaking for the current year, we take a little bit of the fun out of it for teams that are not realistically going to win this season. For such teams, FAAB does not offer as much when we exclude prospects. In our mid season draft, which FAAB could potentially render obsolete, we did not exclude prospects.
Nevertheless, we are living, at least within this forum, in a functioning democracy and I will find the resolve to push on and find a reason to get up at 5:30am tomorrow morning.
Perhaps, if we all like what we see in the next two months, we can revisit the issue in the off season.
Over and Out.

Sounds reasoning Gregger, but I still think there would need to be some limits placed because it's a far different story having access to prospects during one mid-season draft vs. all season long via auction bidding.
My two cents.
We can see how it goes and then re-visit in the off-season if we feel so moved to do so.
