Brandon brought up a good point from last year: how to set up the Big Board competition. Two issues we should debate:
1) Do we have categories for Best Forward, Best Defenseman, and Best Goalie of the week, and also the Best Overall player? Or do we cancel the Best Overall Player as it is doubling up on points?
I personally vote for dropping the Best Overall Player, and instead have categories for Best Forward, Best Defense, and Best Goalie. Seems the fairest way of doing things.
2) What do we do for awarding picks in case of ties?
I vote for an online random picking strategy for dealing with ties. For example, if three people tie for First overall, we use a "draft generator" to determine in what order the picks are awarded. If we have a first place and second place team, with two people tied at third place (like this year), the "draft generator" can decide who gets the third place pick and who does not. As long as it's random, I don't think there's a problem with whatever method is used.
Thoughts?
Cheers,
Matt
