seeding tiebreaker

hey guys after i mentioned something about seeding tiebreakers for when there is more than 2 teams tied for a spot i did a little digging. this is a msg posted by greg when we had more than 2 teams tied for the same spot.

Subject: Rankings heading into the MSD. Mon Dec 21, 2009 1:21 pm

2. The Omnipresence (9-3)
3. Buffalo Cab Co. (7-5)
4. Arthur Tigers (7-5) ***BCC ranked higher with a 2-0 head to head record***
5. Motley Crue (6-6)
6. Fitzy Stars (5-7)
7. 1.21 Gigawatts (5-7)
8. Desolation Row (5-7)
9. Small Town Dynasty (3-9)
10. Vandelay Industries (3-9) ***STD ranked higher with a 1-0 head to head record***

6, 7, 8 are trickier.

Fitzy Stars have a 2-0 record vs Desolation Row and an 0-1 record vs 1.21.
Desolation Row has a 1-0 record vs 1.21.

As far as I can tell, we have no rule in place for a three way tie (is that correct everyone?). We have a rule in place for a two team tie (head to head record with total points withing the head to head record as final determiner) but nothing for a three team tie. I have not spoken with Matt as yet, but it seems sensible in this situation to go with total points accumulated.

Let's get a little discussion going on this so we can firm the draft order up ASAP. Could be some trading to do!

will we be going with total points when there is 2 or more teams tied for a spot? if so i will update the manifesto at some point.

god remember the days when i was 10-2! went on to finish 18-2!! fun times!

Yeah, if the H2H record doesn't lead to a clear tiebreak then total points should probably be the measure used. Makes sense to me.
