Trivia Question for Greg

Okay Greg, you got the last trivia question I gave you. Here's another dandy.

Most years between NHL games. My answer is 18 years. Of course, who did this?

I see Gordie Howe played for the Hartford Whalers in 1979-80, and then played one game for the Detroit Vipers in 1997-98. But the Vipers aren't an NHL team.

Hint: goaltender relief

You've got me Scoop. No idea.

Moe Roberts. Goaltender. Played a few games in the 30's and then played a game in the 50's. He's the goaltender relief, that I believe is still at every NHL game. The guy in the stands, that gets dressed if there is no one else. So, he was sitting there, minding his own business, and the Chicago goalie got hurt. I believe Chicago were the visitors that night, so he was playing for the opponent!



Sorry, I've got a few ridiculous pieces like this tucked away in the back of the moldy old cranium. I noticed it when reading through one of those NHL books that have piles and piles of stats. I've never seen the question asked, so it is possible that there is another dude out there 20 years between games!

I never would have guessed this one, but that is a pretty funny story. Love it!
