I'm still scratching my head that almost seven years later, we still haven't gotten together for lunch or dinner - some place cool - or at the mall.

I haven't been to Guelph since... today... if Marden counts! I visit Marden a couple or three times a week to go to the track. I belong to a running club in Guelph - the Victors. I work for 'Better Farming magazine'. Head office for 'Better Farming' magazine is on Royal Road - it's a Farms.com company.

Cool Jeff, The three of us should hit a game one evening in Guelph. Maybe we can even get Greg to come for a visit and have 4 of us out!

I got the idea that Greg was in Guelph, and then I looked again and saw that he was in Chur. So for a moment, I thought we had four of us right here. Then I didn't know if that was right.

Storm tickets would be a fun idea! It's a long time since I've been to one. Maybe Doughty... Count me in!

Greg lives in Barrie, now. So he's not too far away from Guelph. And I'm usually in Guelph for the holidays, as my inlaws live there. But I'm back in Victoria now.

That would be pretty sweet. I believe it's our tenth anniversary as a league next year, so that could be reason enough for boondoggling.

Give me some notice and I'll arrange a flight and hotel.

Now we're talking! I know it's almost a year away, but maybe we can nail something more specific down when we return to hockey in the fall.

Empty nest syndrome. I've heard it's both good and bad. We're welcoming another bambino to our family in July, so we're going in the opposite direction. LOL.

You're on your way. Parenting is the most difficult job in the world. I love my kids. They are amazing. They can be difficult at times, but in the end, they know what the right thing to do is, and I'm proud of that. You and your wife will be amazing parents and your kids will be amazing too. Have fun, enjoy every single moment that you can. Life happens and doesn't wait, if that makes any sense. I can't believe I'm 56. I wonder where did all the time go, but I've done so much, been so many places already, met many nice and interesting people(including all you guys, even Butch), that I can't complain, I just don't want it to ever end.

Okay, enough of that....pick a date and let's hang for a couple of days...

Thanks for the words, Ray. Appreciate every day. Sound advice methinks, and as a parent, how could you want more than for your kids to make good choices of their own accord. A job well done. My wife and I certainly hope to achieve the same end goal -- with our kids feeling confident and able to make decisions for themselves. And if we do, I'll consider it a success.

I'm glad we have a few Nutbars who don't shy away from philosophical talk.

Although they say 'Hockey is Life' there are lots of other components as well.

Which brings me to my favorite Canadian joke;
