I am extremely happy! The reason I am extremely happy is because I will be drafting for another upcoming hockey season. It doesn't matter where I pick, because anyone can draft the first few rounds, it is what you do in the middle-to-late rounds that makes a difference. Different strategies for different draft spots. Different strokes for different folks. Whatever floats your boat. That's enough with the cliches! Sorry about that.
I like where my team is slotted in the draft order, as I had stated elsewhere, I get to see a trend develop in the draft and I don't have to wait too long to pick.
I think the ideal spot is the 10th spot....good to take 2 players, especially at the end of the first round...two top quality picks.
Let the games begin!

with the second overall pick the Soo Storm select.........
hey number #1 who you taking i need to work on my strategy haha
im happy with number 2, its good to know i will have crosby or ovechkin to lead my team over the next years to come. i still would prefer 10 so i could have stamkos and a solid 10,11 picks. oh well 2 19 and 21 willl do just fine. like it was stated previously its what you do in the middle rounds that makes or breaks a team

With the number two pick I would expect Steve Sullivan to be available. Something to think very seriously about Brandon. Very seriously.
By the way, I have not heard a peep from Fitzsy Stars today about the number one pick. I am starting to worry that he read the email and fell off his chair perhaps hitting his forehead or his lateral maleolus on the corner of the desk knocking himself out cold. Perhaps even chipping a molar. Hopefully not his gold one.
I cannot run this pool alone. I need him.
Greg.
PS I should take this opportunity to officially state, and I am not normally so bold, but I will take this opportunity to state that I will place within the top 11 this year.

Brandon,
May I forward Alexander Semak for your consideration. There's been considerable discussion surrounding him in our other pool over the years. I must have had him in 1994. Rumour is there is another snappy season left in his vodka infested body!

Hey guys,
I'm here. Just had to visit the dentist after falling off my chair and chipping a molar. You know how it is....
Brandon: if you want to add a picture, click on the "profile" tab at the top of the forum page, then click on the "avatar" link just below and to the right. This will allow you to choose a picture to post.
As for picking first ... geez ... the pressure. To be honest Brandon, I am not sure whether to go with Crosby or Ovechkin first. It's a literal buffet of hockey statistics. I think I'll post a thread on Dobbers and see what the gurus have to say.
Cheers, Matt

gotcha matt, ill be taking the one you don't, can't really go wrong with those two to start our dynasty's. im glad i got top 2 so i don't have to think who to take with my first pick its pretty automatic. the rest of the guys are going to have to really do some thinking.
just to let everyone know i have class from 4-7 the first two nights of the propect draft but will check in between the two classes at 530 ish so i shouldn't hold it up more than an hour and a half, but hopefully not at all.
i think we will be able to hammer out the prospect draft quicker then you guys expect and the 4 day alloted for the draft should be enough. but i guess we will find out

Yeah, that's why we did things this way. I think it's a pretty fair way to start things off.
Now: Crosby or Ovechkin, Crosby or Ovechkin, Crosby or Ovechkin....
AAARRGGHH!

If I had my druthers..I would go with Bing Crosby...not only can he act, but boy can he croon. Not many in the NHL can croon you know. I should know because I am probably the only one who knows what the fuck crooning is. LOL. Maybe Jeremy Roenick perhaps, but that's it really.

Crooning. Everyone knows what crooning is! Hell, in Arthur, Ontario we've got a "Crooning Club". In their hall, at the front hangs a picture of "Alfalfa" of "Little Rascals" fame. Croon is a verb. Past participle crooned. Present participle crooning. They chase racoons with their crooning dogs. They're all confused why their infamous leader Alfalfa appears to be singing a song.
Now don't be calling us hillybilly's here in Arthur. Everyone knows the hillbillys live four, five, six hours north of here...
