Well good folks,
Greg and I have been moping around our respective homes this week bored to tears. So we figured the best way to get our blood pumping again is with a summer blockbuster trade. Why you ask? We say: why not. This is fantasy hockey and fantasy hockey is supposed to be fun. And it sure is fun to trade, at least in the short term, before Vincent Lecavalier cancels his current contract to join a buddist monastery in the Himalayas and Ales Hemsky gets run over by a cement mixer. If that were to happen this summer, some of the fun would certainly be taken out of the wheeling and dealing.
So the trade:
Desolation Row receives Kovalchuk and Hudler
while
Fitzsy Stars receives Lecavalier and Hemsky
We have also done something that is sure to astound and surprise. We have negotiated the Nutbars first ever conditional trade.
The condition is this: if Alexander Semin receives RW status from ESPN for next year, Matt can decide to reverse the trade at his discretion. However, if Matt decides to reverse the trade for this reason, Greg will claim Matt's 5th round draft pick in the Sept 2010 draft.
Matt will have up to three days before the start of the Sept 2009 draft to exercise this right, afterwhich he will henceforth lose the right to exercise said condition.
