Hello everyone,
We need to deal with this issue once and for all. I propose setting limitations on the number of draft picks we can trade at ay one time, and we need to vote on what those limitations are as a group.
I would personally prefer to et the limits at two years (four drafts -- two Sept drafts, two Jan drafts). As each draft is held, it will automatically open up picks to be traded from the next draft. For example, once the January 2010 draft is held this year, it will automatically open up draft picks from the January 2012 draft to be traded. As soon as the Sept 2010 draft is held, it will open up picks from the Sept 2012 draft to be traded.
And so forth.
I feel that opening up draft picks beyond this two year limit will create a lot of confusion, and will make tracing draft picks that have been traded more than once over a three year period quite challenging.
However, Greg and Jay seem to feel that 2012 picks should be in play, and if the league votes for that then I would propose limiting trades to three years (or six drafts).
So this poll offers those two options. Please vote for which one you would prefer.
