Does anyone know a cooler keeper league then ours?

PS I was not entirely sure whether I should use the word 'then' or 'than'. So it goes.

This is the only keeper league I am in, so it is officially the coolest for me.

Mine is quickly unraveling due to the trade I was talking about. I ended up taking no action and a few managers are very irate. I told two of them I'd give them refunds since they already paid for next season but so far no takers.

That sucks, Jay. Did you end up asking the guy that got the short end of the deal what his motives were?

Well I've been working the emails. Its really just one GM who is stirring the pot trying to get other people to put the heat on me to veto the trade. I sent out a "cooler" email. Basically stating that unless I have solid proof that they are teaming up I'm not reversing the trade. I can't veto a trade based on player value because its all subjective. I'm really glad I took out the veto voting just 3 short weeks ago because all hell would have broken loose.

The reasoning for the trade was this:

The new guy hates the Canadiens and traded away Markov because he's "a puss" according to the GM. He loved Phaneuf and thinks he's a real gamer and will come back to 60. Not only that he's much younger than Markov. He also thinks Richards can do 90+ again and thinks the points Umberger gets will far outweigh Backstrom totals. I don't agree with ANY of his assesments but I can't go on what he thinks so by all means the case is closed and unless someone can hack into their accounts and grab the emails sent back and forth showing collusion I won't budge on the matter.

Yeah, that's pretty much what you gotta do. I can totally see his reasoning on the first two, as both of these things could very well happen. Can't see Umberger outpointing Backstrom though. I think he got a fourth player as well, so I suppose it would be Bacsktrom for Umberger plus another player.

BTW, good on your for keeping a cool head about things.

Thanks Matt. What I meant about Umberger was that the difference in totals between Backstrom and RIchards will be offset by the points Umberger gets. The other component of the trade was Howard and Pavelec. Opinions on both guys varies quite dramatically so its a wash

Yeah, I see what you're saying now. I can totally see how this trade could be done (even if I don't agree with it). Not even close to being vetoable IMO.

Yeah I really don't agree with it and think its a stupid trade. Its a good thing that the guy getting those players already has a keeper problem so maybe some extra talent finds its way to my squad or in the draft (have 4 out of 5 first picks). The guy that got the talent looks like a master but he's botched up jobs too. At one point he had a killer team with Malkin, Green, Ward, Staal, Ryan, Heatley, Kovalchuk. He's traded everyone away and required them a few times each time paying more for them and giving them up for less. If I were to do a tally on his trades he'd be easliy the run away winner.

Some people just enjoy the trading process, like our good buds Brandon and Greg.
