Farm Team Eligibility

We voted on Farm Team eligibility last year and decided to up the limits to the following:

Skaters -- eligible for your farm team if they've played 50 games or fewer during the NHL regular season.

Goalies -- eligible for your farm team if they've played 30 or fewer games during the NHL regular season.

Part of the reason for upping the totals was to help lower seeded teams rebuild. Judging by the comebacks of Soo Storm and Buffalo Cab Co. this year, those changes are probably adequate.

However, I did want to broach the subject and see whether there was interest in raising the limits of farm team eligibility again. Please VOTE in the poll.

IMPORTANT: If we vote to raise the number of games for farm eligible players, please note that it will not take effect until the summer of 2011. It will stay the way it currently is for this coming year.

82 games for players, anywhere in the 30-40 range for goalies

If we were going to do 82 games for skaters, I'm thinking half of that (41 games) would be the appropriate number for goalies.

I voted no, but only for "Not broke, don't fix" reasons.

this is really close. one more vote.

i voted yes for the reason that we overall get to keep more quality players per year. it allows us to have a rookie for the first year and then the second year which at that point we evaluate if they can crack the squad. however i would not care if we stuck to what we were doing, as joel said if it ain't broke than dont fix it, but i do like the idea of having the prospects we pick mean more.

I guess we just need Mike to vote.

Actually, Mike was on yesterday so he probably did vote already. I'll post a note asking whoever didn't vote to please do so.
