Hello Everyone,
Speaking of the January draft, we should probably set a date and format right now, before it gets too close to the New Year.
The first question is this. Do you prefer a:
a) Specific day and time where we can complete the entire draft in an hour or two? We won't be able to do it through ESPN directly, so we'll either do it on this forum or do it on MSN Messenger. Messenger is probably the better choice.
b) A slow draft that lasts for 2-3 days, as we did with the prospects draft this summer?
Majority rules on this decision.
Also, in case the majority votes for Option A, please let me know if you can clear your schedule for Sunday, January 4th at 2:00 pm EST. I expect the draft should only take an hour or two if we use MSN Messenger.
Cheers, Matt

Specific day, and we can do it through espn's chat feature they have.

And I can't confirm a date yet because I don't have my new crappy job sked yet.

I would prefer the draft to take place over a couple of days. You may be able to get it done in one day. The prospects draft was pretty quick if I recall correctly. Those meds have worked wonders Scoop! Thanks a million!

We're just waiting to hear back from Greg, Scoop, Joel and Mike. I know the former three check in regularly, but not sure how often Mike does. If any body happens to see him walking around Ottawa, just let him know to check the forum.

My personal preference would be to do it all in one day as long as we can organize our schedules.
The current day should work out well, but the time doesn't as I don't get back from church with my family until about a half hour later then that usually.
3pm EST would be fine for me as we're usually back by that time.
I have no objection to doing it over the course of a few days though if that works better because of scheduling.

I am rather flexible, even in my old age, but I would prefer to do it similar to the prospects draft over the course of a few days. I love you all regardless.

So it looks like it's 3-3 currently with me and Keegan riding the hedge. Let's see what Scoop and Mike have to say.

I think I'd rather we did an internet draft. That way no one should enter heavy conflict territory! The whole draft is probably about 40 players. If we set it up to start we could pick three a day for however many days until we were done. After each round is completed the players drafted would become eligible to use on your roster? There will be lots of talk and excitement for many days. Maybe a bunch of trades. When we pick a time, it gets really tough with 10 different teams. Work, school, family, personal....

Dearest Razor,
In regards to getting you more meds, Wizz says "Ennnny time me boy. Jis lat me know an 'll hab semor dem fanski pills fer yeah."
I asked him where he gets them. "Yah mix de hooch..."
That explains a lot!

Yeah, those were two of the concerns Greg and I had when we wrote the league rules. Not only would it make a second draft meaningless, we figured allowing waivers would greatly favour those GMs who had the most free time.

Hey Everyone,
Well, after Scoop and Mike have weighed in it looks like the slight edge goes to a "slow draft." Votes are 4-5 in favour of the slow draft, with Keegan in the middle. I voted for the one day draft.
If we do indeed go for the slow draft, I want to get it done within 3-4 days maximum. While the prospects draft was fun, I found it was a real time-sucker for me (the organizer), and I personally like the idea of getting it out of the way as soon as possible.
Can everybody commit to checking this forum regularly over 3-4 days so that we can get it done in reasonable time?
For those who voted for the slow draft, please let me know.
Cheers, Matt

Yeah I think a slow draft can go pretty quickly if we all check in.

I'd suggest we start on a sunday, and roll it out from there so that the new lineups will be in place for the next fantasy week (ie: start on the 4th, so that we can wrap up somewhere around the 7th, having our lineups in place for the week of the 12th) OR start the last week of december and have it ready for the first week of january
