In anticipation of Matt's new forum photo, I have taken the liberty of throwing up any old photo in the meantime. This is just temporary of course as we wait for Matt to choose this years forum photo!

I think you should use that photo of you choking me on top of the mountain near Chur. Then again, can everyone stand looking at us two sods all year long? LOL.

we could create a stanley cup and have matts team name on it so we can look at it everyday and it will remind us what we need to strive for (getting matts name off!) lol. and then have the nhl logo with NDC for nutbars du canucks in the corner.

Good idea Brandon. I have sent Greg a photo to post for now, but if anybody has the time or inclination to create a logo and a digital photo with a cup (and my name. LOL) then I think we would have to post that up there.

Thats a brilliant idea, we had a custom made trophy built for our family and friends league and it was such a hit. Every year we have the name of the winner engraved everyone loves it.

Make the NDC the same way as the NHL shield........

I have been trying to find a relatively inexpensive way to setup a trophy for our local league here but it's tough. Think I might just bite bullet and spend a bit more to get a decent "cup style" trophy.

For the league where I am commish, I got a perpetual plaque and every year have the name of the winer and the year engraved on a plate and addedto the plaque. It costs about $3 for the engraving each year. I forgot what the plaque cost, but you can get one with 18 plates for about $50. We pass it along each year and I have all the winners sign the back with a silver sharpie.

We had our trophy built in a similar but different style than the Stanley cup if that makes sense, it holds 3 beer lol. It cost me here in Saskatoon about $85.00. Not sure how much your looking to spend but i thought that was reasonable, its actually a very nice looking trophy.

I went looking for something like this a couple of years ago for our friends league, and finally settled on a platinum beer stein. However, the cup cost $40, plus another $40 or so every year for the engraving. Not sure if that's something everyone here would want to contribute an extra $5/year for.

I'm wondering if we could do a digital version of the trophy. I'll have to take a look online and see what I can find.

actually $85 is not a bad price, I might have to keep looking online.

Speaking of trophies, I got one to donate to Nutbars. I have to finish a dresser. When I do, I'll give it a new coat of finish. I've bugged my Dad that I want a 'stuffed squirrel'. He does taxidermy. He's not nibbling though. I thought a mounted squirrel with a shiny 'walnut' puck would be very cool. At the moment, I need to pickup a hockey figure for the little base and maybe plug on a few pucks. This little trophy has been looking for a job for the last 20 years.

It won't compete with the 'Stan Ley Cup', but 'Stan Ley' cost me a bit more!

I remember you saying something about putting together a trophy for Nutbars. This sounds even better than the original version you spoke of.

Would the trophy then do the rounds to the winner every year? In our friends league the previous year's winner has to foot the bill for mailing it to the next winner.

Sounds like a plan to me. Is the winner game?

Hey, if you mailed it to me I would be happy to mail it to the next winner this year. And I have a feeling it's not going to be me, so it would require real postal costs. LOL.

Would there be a place to put names of the winners?

Also, I might be able to pick it up from you in December, when Stacey and I come back to visit family for Christmas. That would save you the cost of mailing it the first time.

Let's aim for the December idea! Winner would also need to engrave their plaque.

Cool. I am going to start a thread on this to see what kind of league support we get.
